Chip R. Bell este partener in cadrul Performance Research Associates, Inc., aflandu-se la conducerea filialei din Dallas. A fost consultant sau orator pentru organizatii importante cum ar fi IBM, AAA, Microsoft, State Farm, Motorola, Marriot, Lockheed-Martin, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, 3M, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, USAA, Royal Bank, GlaxoSmithKline, Merrill Lynch, Verizon, Chevron, Sears, Harley-Davidson si Victoria’s Secret. In plus, a fost profesor la Universitatea Cornell, Universitatea Manchester (Marea Britanie) si Universitatea Penn State. La sfarsitul anilor ’70, inainte de a infiinta o firma de consultanta, a fost vicepresedinte si director al conducerii si departamentului de organizare al NCNB Corporation (actuala Bank of America). A fost comandantul unei unitati de infanterie in a 82-a divizie de elita aeropurtata in timpul razboiului din Vietnam, iar in 1970 a fost cooptat in personalul Diviziei Metodelor de Instructie din scoala de Infanterie a U.S. Army.

Chip este autorul a paisprezece carti, printre care Customer Love: Attracting and Keeping Customers for Life, Customers As Partners, Managing Knock Your Socks Off Service (impreuna cu Ron Zemke), Knock Your Socks Off Service Recovery (impreuna cu Ron Zemke), Beep Beep!: Competing in the Age of the Road Runner (impreuna cu Oren Harari), Dance Lessons: Six Steps to Great Partnerships in Business and Life (impreuna cu Heather Shea), Instructing for Results (impreuna cu Fredric Margolis), Understanding Training (impreuna cu Fredric Margolis), The Trainer’s Professional Development Handbook (impreuna cu Ray Bard, Leslie Stephen si Linda Webster) si Clients and Consultants (impreuna cu Leonard Nadler). De asemenea, a contribuit la capitole din The Sales Training Handbook, The Training and Development Handbook, The Handbook of Human Resource Development, Coaching for Leadership, Learning Journeys si The Best Practices in Customer Service.
