Her recent books include Beautiful Colors (Random House/Little Golden Books) and additional board books in the Brown Baby Parade series. She is passionate about the authentic representation of all children and writes stories depicting the history and struggles of Black people as well as "Black joy." She lives in Davis, California.

Amanda Quartey has been drawing ever since she can remember.
She was born and bred in London. At the age of 14 she moved to Ghana and studied art at school and later returned to the UK to study graphic design. Her artistic path deviated slightly when she studied Classics at University; and then later started working in finance.
