Aici totul e conventie, strategie teatrala pentru a parveni, pentru a comunica nelinistea existentiala. - George Banu
„Tompa is a director who sets theatricality as a priority, as the assumption of an art that regards realism and the organic with reluctance. He prefers, as Louis Aragon would say, the 'truth of the artifice', 'le mentir vrai' - the sense of 'stage forgery' as a roadmap to thought and consciousness. The photographs show it, the kinship to Ionesco and Beckett is unmistakable: the stage becomes a ludic, ironic, anti-iconic place. A unique polychromatic world of wigs and colored garments, patched coats, worn-out shoes and suffocating waste. All is convention, theatrical strategy to come across, to convey existential anxiety. He cultivates the seduction of the game without concealing the fear of the void - the void of feelings, of words, of acts... but at the same time, a void enabling humor as a way of redemption." - George Banu
- George Banu
