Victorine won Elle Magazine's "Readers' Best Novel of the Year" award in 2004. Love Me Tender was a Village Voice bestseller in 1987. Her work has been translated into ten languages, and has been widely reviewed in the national and international press. She has taught at Columbia University, University of Nebraska, Brooklyn College, Rutgers University and Hofstra University, and now teaches at the New School. She was born and raised in Paris, and lives in New York.
