First Light: Poetry

"First Light" is a collection of poems covering a wide range of subjects from sacred to secular,
thoughts about gratitude to our Creator to Black History. From ideas stemming from the creative
process, in "First Word", to the senseless ravages of war, in "War", and "School Shootings". It goes
further to make poetic comments on bullying in "Again" and love lost in "Wild Roses", to the end of life's
torments, "Dark Angel" to a child's confidence restored by her father's intervention at school in
"Circus". This collection spans a spectrum of emotions and touches hearts that look beyond the surface
of mundane occurrences of life. It describes, goes inside and above trials and tribulations. Through its
lines you will see struggles we all share.
