Fresh Eyes

Fresh Eyes is a collection of contemporary poetry and reflections that offers the reader a glimpse into the heart of Dr. Miranda Smalls for those who need encouragement, a hearty laugh, or a gentle reminder that God is in the details even in familiar places. The book invites readers to look at everyday experiences in fresh, new ways, or to look back at the good old days, or simply to offer thanks to God for one more day. Fresh Eyes sees a rainbow of hope where others may see despair, and the presence of God where the landscape appears to be barren. The writer sometimes pokes fun at situations, yet always acknowledges that God is at the center of it all. Dr. Miranda Smalls, a former high school teacher who now serves as an adjunct professor, echoes the Apostle Paul's declaration of his love for Jesus Christ and His Word. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes..." (Romans 1:16, NIV). This creed guides her writing, and her life. Dr. Smalls' relationship with Jesus Christ takes precedence over everything else. To her, living for Jesus Christ is the only thing that truly matters
