Have You Seen A Thylacine?

The thylacine (thylacinus cynocephalus) is also known as the Tasmania tiger (due to the striped lower back) or Tasmania wolf. It is native to Continental Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea. It has been commonly accepted as becoming extinct in the 20th Century and was the last extant of its family. Fossil records of other specimens in the thylacinidae have been recorded dating back to the late Oligocene (geologic period approx. 33.9 million - 23 million years prior to the present).

Considered a shy, nocturnal marsupial, the thylacine is an apex predator and crepuscular hunter, spending daylight hours in caves or hollows.
