Chokoshvili, Lia: - Lia Chokoshvili has been teaching Georgian at the University of Oxford for twenty-seven years. With her student various classic texts were translated and in 2021 the first ever English translation of one of the masterpieces of 20th century Georgian literature Human Sadness by Goderdzi Chokheli was completed. The novel is narrated by five different characters each with a distinct voice which the translation seeks to emulate by having a different translator for each individual voice.
