Keep Turning Up Wardy

Keep Turning Up Wardy is not a tale of sporting superstars, but of the heartbeat of sport-the Club player. John Ward takes readers into the world of village greens, quality cricket grounds, pavilions, rugby pitches and Clubrooms, where passion, camaraderie, and persistence matter more than trophies.

From early days in English cricket and rugby to adventures across France, Spain, and Australia, Ward shares the humour, triumphs, and inevitable mishaps of a "half-decent" sportsman who, like countless others, simply kept turning up. Along the way, we meet unforgettable teammates and characters-stalwarts, dirt trackers, scallywags, and legends-whose quirks and commitment made every match memorable.

For everyone who has laced up their boots, picked up a bat, or turned up week after week for love of the game, this book is a warm, witty, and heartfelt tribute to sport.
