Murder on the Medway

Discover Amy Rowlings: quick-witted movie buff, avid reader of crime fiction, and amateur sleuth.

July 1939. A pleasant afternoon by the river turns tragic when the body of young party girl Effie Watkins is discovered in the reed beds. For an overstretched Inspector Bodkin, it's the worst possible time for a murder inquiry.

When the clues point toward the exclusive Highwater Boat Club, Amy Rowlings and her best friend Alice decide to go undercover at the club's posh annual ball. Amy quickly discovers that Effie had no shortage of enemies among the local elite.

Channeling her inner Hercule Poirot, Amy builds a suspect list of town pillars and wealthy club members. But as the investigation intensifies, Bodkin's own past comes back to haunt him, putting his relationship with Amy to its ultimate test.

Murder on the Medway is the fourth in the cozy, historical Amy Rowlings Golden Age Mysteries series, which can be read in any order. For fans of Verity Bright, Helena Dixon, and Felicity Penn.
