The Other World and Its Quest for Equilibrium

The reckless behaviour of the Republic of the Rabbits is causing alarm among the insects, birds, and animals of the Other World. Everyone wants equilibrium, but the rabbits' actions are upsetting the humans in the house and risk destabilising that balance, which in turn could be exploited by nefarious outside forces, particularly the foxes. Can the League of Species overcome the Axis of Malcontents to restore the Equilibrium of the Other World?

This book is a work of creative imagination seen through the eyes of the non-humans as well as the man and woman in the house. It offers perspectives and insights into a made-up world that resonates with the geopolitical ambitions and threats to civilisation in our complex, conflicted twenty-first-century reality. The narrative is fantastical, glimpsing a world we little understand; at times tragic, but with a positive outlook, it draws on insights the author gained from a career in government service, work that often involved the kind of management, administration, and foreign-relations interaction enacted in The Other World.
