《三民主义》论述了孙中山的民族主义、民权主义、民生主义三大主张。民族主义，主要内容是反对清朝的统治，避免中国被瓜分、共管的厄运，争取民族的独立和解放。民权主义是三民主义的核心。它揭露和批判封建专制主义，代之以"民主立宪"的共和制度，关于政体的擘划也是民权主义的重要内容。民生主义是孙中山的"社会革命"纲领，主题是实现中国的近代化，发展社会经济，同时实现人民的生活福利；对资本主义经济进行了批判，同情于"社会主义"。 Three Principles of the People narrates Sun Yat-sen's principles of nationalism, democracy, and the people's livelihood. Principles of Nationalism's main content are against the rule of the Qing Dynasty, avoiding China from being carved up and condominium, and fighting for national independence and liberation. Principle of Democracy is the core of three principles of the people. It exposes and criticizes feudal absolutism, and replaces with "constitutional democracy" republican system. The regime's brake is also an important content of Principle of Democracy. Principle of People's Livelihood is Sun Yat-sen's "social revolution" program, the theme of which is to realize the modernization of China, the development of social economy, and to achieve the people's welfare. It criticizes the capitalist economy, and shows sympathy to "socialism."
