The remaining five chapters were selected from Fifty Years a Detective by Thomas Furlong, published in 1912. Thirty-six new illustrations and approximately seventy annotations were added to this anthology to enhance the reader's enjoyment. In addition, a companion webpage was created which contains a total of 116 images, and 139 newspaper pages filled with stories about the people and events covered in this book.
