Set in 1860's Chicago, Horatio and Anna Spafford work to build a life together at a time when the country is falling apart amidst the turbulence of the Civil War. They grieve the loss of their beloved president, Abraham Lincoln. They volunteer many hours to help in the efforts to rebuild the devastation the war left behind. Chicago is growing exponentially during this time. A successful lawyer and businessman, Horatio invests heavily in real estate in the expanding city. Sadly, this all comes crashing down at the hands of the Great Chicago Fire. Engulfed in the tragedy of their ravaged investment, the Spaffords make a decision that proves to be the most horrific of all. 'It Is Well' is a story of divine triumph over debilitating adversity which will inspire its readers to greater heights of faith in God.
