David M. Gutknecht has been in full-time Christian ministry for the past 40 years as a pastor, church consultant, and professional counselor. He is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Colorado. Having assisted churches and organizations implement spiritual growth programs, including small groups and counseling programs, David's experience in observing and working with individuals resulted in the development of the Speaking the Truth in Love communication system and the 1-year Bible reading guide The Word by Steps (also with Outskirts Press). He and his wife Chris have been married for the last 42 years.
