Still Standing: An Amputee's Story of Hope
Ana L. Reyes was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Hector Rivera & Margarita Franco and is the oldest of 5 siblings: Hector, Vilma, Yomarie and Karen. She has been happily married for 34 years to Pastor Marc Reyes. She is the proud mother of two very special human beings, Mark Reyes, Jr. & Kristie McCown. She is the grandmother of 6 wonderful grandchildren, Elijah Noel, Mark Anthony III, Anabella Hope, Avalee Rose, Clari Valentina and Kaílah Reign for whom she is grateful and happy. She has a beautiful daughter-in-law, Dolly Reyes and a wonderful son-in-law, Kainon McCown.
In the professional field, she graduated with honors with a college degree in Liberal Arts in 2003 and completed her studies while working for the City of New Haven. She was a school teacher for a period of 20 years, serving with dedication to the city of New Haven.
Today, together with her husband and General Presbyter of the Spanish Eastern District, Rev. Marc Reyes, pastors Good Shepherd Ministries Church in West Haven, CT for 19 years. Ana was received as an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God of the Spanish Eastern District in 2016.
Ana received her cancer diagnosis in the beginning of 2017. Three years later, she became an amputee. In spite of her disability, she continues to travel to different countries on missionary trips and continues to serve the community where she faithfully pastors.
