Michael served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a combat helicopter pilot. He flew in the Army for seven years and was a flight instructor. He remained in the US Army Reserves and retired after twenty eight years as a CW-5. While in the USAR he participated in numerous Protective Service Missions around the world. Michael became a PSM Instructor and trained various law enforcement personnel. He was also taught Anti-Terrorism Driving . Michael served as an officer in the Tacoma Police Department and retired as a Detective in the Homicide unit. While with TPD he was an Instructor in Officer Survival, Combat Pistol and Shotgun and Unarmed Defensive Tactics. He spent a total of thirty years in law enforcement and retired from the Division of Fraud for the State of Washington.
