Miller, Rickey: - Dr. Rickey Miller obtained her PhD from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1980. As Staff Psychologist at a major teaching hospital, she established the first pain management program in a department of psychology in a general hospital in Toronto. Later she was Chief Psychologist in a general hospital and provided treatment to patients in oncology, neurology, cardiology, family practice, and psychiatry. She maintained a private practice in Toronto from 1990 to 2022. Dr. Miller provided psychological assessment and treatment to individuals, couples, and families, who sought help for anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, pain management, stress management, grief, marital and parenting issues. She has attended court as an expert witness for personal injury and disability patients. Her Miller Social Intimacy Scale is widely employed by researchers investigating the role of social intimacy in mental and physical health.
