As a parent of three sober alcoholic daughters and becoming an addiction psychotherapist with a master of science in substance abuse, as well as working with hundreds of parents with stories similar to her own, Mary was able to utilize her knowledge and experience to aid parents in their own recovery, avoiding the pitfalls of enabling and codependency. No one can truly understand the grief and despair that comes with having an addicted child but for another parent that has ridden the same roller coaster of emotions.
