Growing up at her family's small cattle station, Aggie always dreamed of planes and flying. Ready to do her bit in World War II, she is off to Sydney to serve in the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force as an aviation mechanic.
From the tough streets of Chicago, Henry has a chance for a fresh start, training to fly a Dauntless dive bomber from the venerated USS Enterprise.
Their lives collide in a chance meeting on a street in Sydney. Aggie can't imagine the dashing pilot would be interested in her. Henry can't seem to say the right thing to the lovely Aussie.
Set against the Enterprise's final Pacific campaign, they face the challenges of falling in love in the middle of a war as Henry encounters enemy gunfire and kamikazes while Aggie works to keep planes flying.
Can two people from different sides of the world build a life together after an encounter under Australian skies?
