Scholman, Lena: - Born and raised in Grey County (with a few fantastic detours), Lena Scholman now draws inspiration from the proud, local writing community of the Golden Horseshoe. She holds a bachelor's degree in French and Spanish from the University of British Columbia and an education degree from the University of Toronto. Her writing has appeared in the Hamilton Spectator, the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail. She lives with her husband and children in Hamilton's east end. In addition to writing, she is the Spiritual Life Facilitator for a gap year program that encourages young people to explore the stories of home and land and wonder about their place in the world. She enjoys hiking and skiing along the Niagara Escarpment, long meals around a big table and curling up with a good book.
