Camino Letters - Julie Kirkpatrick

Camino Letters

Julie Kirkpatrick, a Canadian writer and lawyer, is the author of The Camino Letters: 26 Tasks on the Way to Finisterre (Pyxis Press, July 2010). Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Superior, she is the youngest of six children of a franco-Ontarian mother and anglophone father. Julie completed a B.A. and M.A. in Canadian Studies at Trent University before completing her law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School. As a student and young mother, Julie worked as a freelance writer and occasionally filled in as the Peterborough correspondent for CBC's Ontario Morning.. She was also a founding editor of the quarterly literary journal, The Peterborough Review. In 2009, at the age of forty, Julie jumped ship and went on a long walk in Spain with her teenaged daughter. It was then that she discovered that she is a very good walker and she now thinks that someday she would like to walk across Canada just to see what would happen. She lives with her husband, award-winning book designer George Kirkpatrick, in Millbrook, Ontario.
