Drifting away is a skill I have. The doctors call it disassociation, but for me, it's a superpower. A superpower that steps in like an emotional shield to guard me from the storms that find me. I go into a hidden part of my mind somewhere between reality and dreams, where time dances to a different beat and sometimes even ceases to exist. I usually won't even remember what my body went through after I have left it. My name is Storm. My parents gave me that name so that I would grow up powerful like all of life's elements, full of wonder, mystery, and magic.
