Tony Ward is back in West Dublin after lying low in England, having murdered a rival five years earlier. When he returns, he finds a different landscape: His mentor is dead and his best pal has gone straight.

So when a chance arises to work for the enforcer of a notorious crime boss, Tony jumps at it. Flute is a far cry from the quiet boy Tony remembered from school. Working as his right hand gives Tony protection from his earlier crimes as well as the opportunity to reach for the life he wants.
