Arabic Primary Sentence Builders - Absolute Beginners: Arabic Sentence Builders - Primary

Arabic Primary Sentence Builders is a workbook aimed at younger learners, co-authored by six modern languages educators with over 90 years of extensive classroom experience between the six, both in the UK and internationally; including over 20 years of experience in primary contexts.

This 'no-frills' book contains 9 units of work. The purpose is for students to learn the alphabet, practise reading and writing the Arabic script and communicate basic phrases about their name, age and how they are feeling. This book is primarily aimed at students with zero level of Arabic but can also be used to consolidate previous knowledge.

Each unit includes:

- a focus on different parts of the alphabet, such as:

- Vowels

- Sukoon

- Nunation

- Stretched vowels

- Double consonants

- Sun & moon letters

- a set of activities designed to aid in Arabic alphabet recognition and production

- explanations of the rules that are needed in order to read, and opportunities to practise these

- a set of Listening-As-Modelling activities to train decoding skills, sound awareness, speech-segmentation, lexical-retrieval and parsing skills;

Based on the E.P.I. principle that learners learn best from comprehensible and highly patterned input flooded with the target linguistic features, the authors have carefully designed each and every section and activity to enable the student to process and produce each item many times over.
