Best of the Not Quite Write Prize for Flash Fiction 2023-2024: Winning and Shortlisted Stories

Since 2023, the Not Quite Write Prize for Flash Fiction has challenged writers around the world to break the writing 'rules' in compelling new ways.

This inaugural anthology showcases the 30 winning and shortlisted stories across the first five rounds of the competition - each with its own take on creative storytelling.

Marvel as these authors embrace adverbs and clichés, eschew dialogue tags, pump out purple prose, and head-hop their way to a series of colourful, beautiful, and sometimes disturbing pieces. Enjoy author insights and inspiration plus commentary from the Not Quite Write judges, and wave goodbye to any limits you thought existed in the world of flash fiction.
