About the Author: Dr. Kavita Singh is a well-known Punjabi artist, poet, academician and art researcher who specializes in Sikh Contemporary art and Sikh Popular art. Presently, she is head of the Department of Fine Arts and in charge of prestigious Museum & Art Gallery, Punjabi University, Patiala. Her Doctorate thesis is done on "An Analytical Study of Sikh Calendar Art". She has to her credit three more Books on art and poetry- An Ode to a Paper Boat- Paintings and poems, A Tribute to an Immortal Poet- Ajj Akhaan Waris Shah Nu- Drawings & Paintings and Barahmaha-Divine Manifestations in Seasons.


She has participated in more than 400 Art Exhibitions, Art Workshops, Artists Camps, Art Seminars and Conferences at Regional, National and International level. She has been a recipient of Le Corbusier Scholarship in Drawing and Painting by Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi. Scores of other awards and prizes. Her artworks are in collection of prestigious art galleries, art museums, art academies and with private collectors around the globe. She has written 65 research papers on art and her articles have been published in books as chapters.
