Nearing the end of the 2021 elk season with a limited quota draw tag in his pocket, Joel encountered the bull that would not only be meat in the freezer or a trophy on the wall but would inspire a modern-day parable to bring hope to the hurting.

The heart of Broken is so aptly reflected in the theme verse, Matthew 11:28. So many have lost a will to fight, a purpose in life, and even a reason to live.
