Camp Bulletins From 1110

De (autor): Jane Lichty Pearson

"Big Bob the Banker"(Lichty) and "Annie Bun Buns" (Homemaker Extraordinaire) had their challenges raising me in Austin, Minnesota. Sometimes growing me up was "tougher than picking fly poop out of pepper." (Father's words. Not mine.)

Did you ever hear "You are not leaving this table until you clean up your plate?" Or, "Just wait until your father comes home!"? How about "If I ever hear you say that word around here again I'm going to wash your mouth out with soap!" I sure did.

Years later, a pair of mud flaps I saw on a cement truck in Durango, Colorado helped bring about this snapshot of growing up in the '50s. They were mud flaps that helped me "LGOTG" (Let Go of the Grudge) concerning the countless Camp Bulletins that were dispersed daily at 1110. Laced with humor, interspersed with lessons, this glimpse of growing up on old Freeborn Street contains stories that are true. (Well, mostly true.)
