Shaw, Dorothy: - Dorothy Shaw grew up in Austin, Texas. She is an award-winning art director and graphic designer. Shaw is delighted to now be focusing on children's books illustration. Jerome the Stone was Shaw's debut as an author. Shaw has illustrated four books for Doodle and Peck Publishing.She has traveled throughout the world, absorbing the smells, sounds, food, music, art and culture, and firmly believes that everything we do becomes part of our work and who we are. She explores: how do we interpret, enliven and share our experiences? For example, when you play a musical instrument, can you feel the music crash before you like ocean waves? When you hear a lawnmower, do you smell the grass? If you watch an eagle soar with outstretched wings, are you, too, weightless for a moment?
