Dear BYG (Black Young Gifted) Kid... was originally written as a poem to encourage young Black children to love themselves and embrace who God created them to be. This book includes a list of daily affirmations that will reinforce a positive self-image. BYG kids will be inspired to keep striving to reach their goals and excelling while using their God-given gifts.
This book highlights the diverse characteristics of Black children and captures positive images of the multigenerational Black family. It celebrates academic excellence and includes a Glossary to help young readers. This book incorporates the much-needed presence of the church and prayer in the Black community.
