From a shipboard acquaintanceship with the beautiful champion, David, in a maze of complications, follows through to clear up the mystery of the challenger's death. With the advent of MacMasters of Scotland Yard business picks up. The corpse disappears, another murder occurs, while the sinister figure of Azarin, uncle to Marie, figures prominently in the series of events.
