Gap to Great: A Parent's Guide to the Gap Year

Wien, Andrea: - Andrea is a Millennial, entrepreneur, and writer. In 2015, she launched the first global gap year community, Gap to Great, as a place for students to share stories, ask questions and provide support for one another before and after the gap year. She's the founder of Aviator, a personal development program focused on creating opportunities for young adults. Her weekly column on Forbes chronicles the future of work, and the ups-and-downs of launching a business. Her writing has appeared around the web for publications including USA Today, Yahoo!, Thrillist, The Huffington Post and Seattle Weekly. On Andrea's podcast, also called Gap to Great, she interviews people about their obstacles, successes and non-traditional life paths. Though Andrea didn't take a gap year, she likes to say she's taken many gaps in her years. Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, she's lived in New York City; Seattle, Washington; and Sydney, Australia since graduating in 2007 from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations. She currently lives with her husband in New York City.
