Keehnen, Owen: - Queer historian and writer Owen Keehnen is the author of several fiction and nonfiction titles. He has penned several books on LGBTQ Chicago, including "Dugan's Bistro and The Legend of the Bearded Lady" and "Man's Country: More Than a Bathhouse." He coauthored, with Tracy Baim, biographies on three Chicago gay community legends: Chuck Renslow, Jim Flint, and Vernita Gray. Keehnen worked with St Sukie de la Croix on three installments of the Tell Me About It book series. His next book from Rattling Good Yarns Press will be A Place for Us, Gay Life at Chicago's Belmont Rocks. He is the co-founder of the LGBTQ history and education organization, the Legacy Project. Keehnen was inducted into the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame in 2011. He lives in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago with his husband, Carl, and his dogs, Vince and Daisy.
