Julia Marrow and Alex Pestano have been inseparable since childhood. As they grow, so does their connection. But Alex is more comfortable fleeing from her feelings than dealing with them. When the lines of friendship start to blur at the same time her brother gets sick, Alex does what Alex does best. She runs, choosing to study abroad her senior year.

When Alex returns home she's left facing everything she left behind. When she and Julia make the impulsive decision to have a one-night stand, they promise it won't affect their friendship. But it does.
