Meertens, Hans: - Hans Meertens is a Dutch artist, writer and illustrator who studied art in York (UK), Ghent (BE) and Utrecht (NL), honing his craft through residencies in New York City. His work has been exhibited internationally and features in private, museum and corporate collections. A former art teacher in Amsterdam, he now also mentors art academy students with ASD or ADHD, and volunteers with the foundation Drawing for Children. As a hobby, he fronts the post-rock band Spiritbox, with recordings available on streaming platforms. An early admiration for David Bowie led him to the work of Iggy Pop, whose music, alongside that of Lou Reed and Nick Cave, he holds in enduring esteem.
