Introduction to Probability and Statistics for Data Scientists (with R): Chapters 1-3

Ronald D. Fricker, Jr. is a Professor in the Operations Research Department of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Statistics from Yale University, an M.S. in Operations Research from The George Washington University and a bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy. Author of more than 70 papers, book chapters, and books, Dr. Fricker's current research is focused on the application of data science methods to national security problems. He recently published Introduction to Statistical Methods for Biosuveillance with Cambridge University Press. He has also published in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Statistics in Medicine, Journal of Quality Technology, Quality Engineering, Naval Research Logistics, Teaching Statistics and Chance. Professor Fricker is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute. He is a contributing editor to Interfaces and he is on the editorial boards of Statistics and Public Policy and International Journal of Quality Engineering and Technology.
