J. J. R. MacLeod: Co-Discoverer of Insulin

Dr Michael J Williams (1931-2022) was an Aberdonian educated at the same school and medical school as Macleod. His main career was as a general physician specialising in diabetes in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He became interested in Macleod after reading Michael Bliss's 'Discovery of Insulin' and was encouraged by him to complete the biography.

Dr Kenneth C McHardy (1955-) is an Aberdonian educated at the same school and medical school as Dr Williams and Professor Macleod. His main career was as a general physician specialising in diabetes in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He assisted in Dr Williams efforts to issue his original Macleod biography in 1993 and with the revision project from 2020. He has written the extended introduction to the republished volume.
