Katana Shodan: The Scroll of the Five Masters

A YA coming-of-age urban fantasy in which a girl's untrained command of her life energy earns her a place at a hidden school for gifted fighters. Fast and adventurous, with chosen-one training, a forbidden killing art, a relic granting immortality and secret orders at war.

A Hidden Gift. A Stolen Scroll. A Master Of The Death Touch Returns.

When Katana stops a gang of attackers using nothing but her chi, Master Osaka sends her to the Hall of the Dragon, a hidden school where students learn to shape their power. She's barely unpacked when a band of warriors breaks in, hunting the Scroll of the Five Masters and the key to immortality written inside it.

The intruders are the Arashi, a secret society that preserves dim mak, the forbidden art of the death touch. Its highest teachings were thought lost with their ancient master. But a new master has risen, wielding something worse than the death touch, and the scroll is the last thing standing between him and eternal life.

Katana's training has only begun. The enemy has centuries of practice, and the truth of his identity sits closer to her than anyone at the Hall dares admit.

Katana Shodan is the first book in the Katana Series, a YA urban fantasy, for readers who love martial-arts magic, secret societies, chosen-one training arcs and coming-of-age adventure. Perfect for fans of Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan and Kelley Armstrong.
