In 2019, Plain Compassion Crisis Response (PCCR) sent a team of workers to Colombia to help with the humanitarian and spiritual needs of the hundreds of Venezuelan refugees crossing over the border. While many families merely passed through this border town to other cities or countries, some stayed and made a new home.
In Little Venezuelan Girl, author Vanessa Gingerich gives a name to the countless faces of Venezuelan refugee children by offering a small glimpse of what day-to-day life is like for one Venezuelan girl. Spreading cultural awareness and a message on God's love, the book teaches young readers how to love others just as Jesus does. The book also features illustrations based on the author's personal photographs as well as a cut out paper doll for children to play with and always have a friend wherever they go.
