Managing Artists in the Music Industries: An Examination of the Key Role in Music Creator Development

Williamson, John: - John Williamson is LKAS Fellow in Popular Music Studies at the University of Glasgow. He recently researched and co-authored, Players' Work Time, a history of the British Musicians' Union (MUP). He has taught on the University's M.Litt (Music Industries) since its inception in 2008, teaching aspects of popular music history, politics and the music industries. Prior to this he managed the Glasgow based bands Bis and Belle and Sebastian and worked as a freelance music writer for The Herald newspaper.
