Marlboro county was created in 1785 and is located in the historic area know as the Pee Dee region. This is the first book of legal records to be published from this county. These records contain lists of deeds, wills, and administrations recorded tavern licenses, bastardy cases, road commissioners, etc... It is analogous to the Virginia Order Books which most genealogists are familiar with.
