In Massachusetts, the building code requires that construction of all one and two family dwellings of any size and all other types of buildings containing less than 35,000 cubic feet of enclosed space must be performed under the supervision of a Construction Supervisor licensed by the State Board of Building Regulations and Standards. There are several different specialties. The restricted license is for one and two family residential buildings ONLY, while the unrestricted license is okay for buildings up to 35000 cubic feet in size.
