Morals and the Evolution of Man

De (autor): Max Nordau

Nordau, Max: - Max Simon Nordau was a prominent Zionist leader, physician, author, and social critic born on July 29, 1849, in Pest, Budapest, Hungary. He was deeply involved in the Zionist movement, co-founding the Zionist Organization with Theodor Herzl. Nordau played a significant role in the movement, serving as president or vice-president at several Zionist congresses. His writings, including The Conventional Lies of Our Civilization, Degeneration, and Paradoxes, reflect his critique of modern society and its moral and cultural decline. As a social critic, Nordau explored the impact of industrialization, urbanization, and the changing values of modern life. He was particularly concerned with the effects of these changes on the individual and society. Nordau's influence extended beyond his Zionist activities, as he was recognized for his contributions to cultural and social thought. He passed away on January 22, 1923, in Paris at the age of 73. His final resting place is in the Trumpeldor Tel Aviv Cemetery in Tel Aviv, Israel. His parents were Rosalie Sarah and Gabriel S dfeld. He had one child, Maxa Nordau.
