New Hampshire: A Poem with Notes and Grace Notes

De (autor): Robert Frost

Frost, Robert: - Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, California, in 1874. After the death of his father, Frost moved with his family to Massachusetts, where the rural landscapes and communities of New England would later become central to his poetry. He attended Dartmouth College and Harvard University but did not complete a degree, supporting himself through teaching, farming, and a variety of other jobs while continuing to write.Frost published his first two major collections, A Boy's Will and North of Boston, while living in England. These books established his reputation for poems that combined traditional verse forms with natural speech, vivid rural settings, and close attention to human conflict, isolation, choice, and endurance. Among his best-known poems are "The Road Not Taken," "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," "Mending Wall," "Birches," and "Fire and Ice."During his long career, Frost received four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry and became one of the most widely read American poets of the twentieth century. Although his work is often associated with simple country scenes, his poems frequently explore uncertainty, loss, moral tension, and the darker complexities of human experience. Frost died in Boston in 1963, leaving behind a body of work that remains central to American literature.
