Maya is a world renowned teacher of the Warrior path and the author of "No Mud, No Lotus; a memoir of Sex, Betrayal and Spiritual Awakening." At the age of thirty-three, after a lifetime of trauma and life threatening alcohol and drug addictions, Maya began a radical journey into self-healing. She began by diving deeply into 'Tantra' and 'sacred sex' of the West, which landed her in the controversial documentary film, Sex Magic, Manifesting Maya. Overwhelmed with the limiting distortions of western Tantra, she ultimately denounced the work and moved to Ubud Bali, where she took refuge into an organic apprenticeship with a Balinese yogi as well as her practice of the Sikh tradition of Kundalini yoga. There, she wrote her autobiography No Mud No Lotus, which is not only a shocking life story but also an open portrayal of her experiences within the western neo-tantra movement. From her writing she became recognized for calling out the distortion of spiritualizing socialized initiatives and ego drives under the guise of Tantra's name. On October of 2013, still in hopes of understanding the deeper nature of Tantra, Maya traveled to Cape town, South Africa, where she worked with a mentor, Rahasya Advait, who ultimately helped her to realize her innate life-path was that of the Dakini- a 'sky dancer' or female spiritual guide. There, Maya experienced Satori and her days of seeking were complete. There is nothing to do at this juncture but point the way. www.mayayonika.org FB: Follow- Maya Yonika Twitter- Beware of Dakinis @MayaYonika
