On the Blue

In the second instalment of this beautifully designed sci-fi trilogy, Kaliki has been stuck in Carunala, Spain, for over three months and must find her way to meet her graduated class in Virginia, an ocean away. What daunts her further is her escape from a race that is trying to kill her and the guilt she feels from not being able to find her own twin brother, Leno. Did he leave without her? Did he perish?

Her guardian angel of sorts arrives just in time and has connections to expedite her travel to the United States. Even with Miguel's help, there is still much to fear, especially when the pair run into some federal agents in Washington, D.C. Kaliki does, however, find some familiar faces but still has doubts about her race's ability to manage a war.

The Earth's population of humans seems exponential. How can she lead her population of Cambians to what her eldest, Kenthor, has tasked for her? Can they live with these humans, or is the need for human extinction inevitable for her race to live and thrive?
