What would James Bond do? Brothers John and Sam ponder this daily. They both desperately want to be professional spies. Or maybe James Bond himself. Or write spy manuals. Or comic books.
Now that they have outgrown the diaper wearing, annoying little Cub Scouts, they are ready to conquer the world - or at least their corner of Cricket Cove, Maine. But first, they must survive grade school, outsmart the Johnson boys, and convince their parents to let them use the family's new outboard by themselves. Why? Because, as they would tell you, real spies do not use rowboats.
In between important (and obviously top secret) spy training sessions, the boys concoct a get-rich-quick scheme. Together they've written a "brilliant" manual on how to pack for a hiking trip, complete with Sam's special chapter on avoiding Tree Bears. Never heard of a Tree Bear? Like Bigfoot, that doesn't mean they aren't out there.
