She is the Founder & Executive Director of The HERD Institute(R) which offers training and certification in equine facilitated psychotherapy and learning. She has published two books within the field of equine therapy and multiple peer-reviewed articles on the subject. Dr. Lac has served on the Executive Board of APA Division 32 (Secretary) and is a founding member of the Racial Diversity Work Group for the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH Intl). She is also a regular peer-reviewer for The Humanistic Psychologist and the Journal of Humanistic Psychology. Her commitment to fighting for social justice is woven through the fabric of her professional and personal life. Dr. Lac lives on a farm in Orlando, Florida, with her husband, three horses, three dogs, a cat, and six chickens.
