Richter, Denise Barkis: - Denise Barkis Richter, Ph.D. (UT-Austin, 1998, Journalism), started her blog, sanantoniotourist.net, in June 2010 to share her love of the Alamo City with fellow adventurers. Thanks to her parents, she's been a traveler since she was a small child, and travel is her lifelong passion. She became a certified professional tour guide in 2019. Richter has lived and studied in Mexico, Spain, and Guatemala, and she has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, and Costa Rica. She and her husband walked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago through the north of Spain in 2022. Her love affair with San Antonio began at HemisFair, the World's Fair, in 1968.
